Mistakes Found in 98% of US Patents

Artem Tashkinov writes to tell us The Register is reporting that almost every US patent contains at least one mistake. The findings from a recent look by Itellevate, a firm that offers support services to intellectual property lawyers, claim that most of these errors a trivial but approximately 2 percent of the patents examined had errors that weakened the core claims of the patent itself.

Roland Piquepaille writes “Precooling a structure in the morning before temperatures rise has been done before. It later saves energy during times of peak demand and you might even have done it intuitively at home. But now, engineers from Purdue University have developed a control algorithm which promises to reduce energy consumption — and electricity bills — by as much as 30 percent for small office buildings which represent the majority of commercial structures. So far, this method has only been tested in California, but the researchers say that their control software could be used anywhere after minor adaptations.”

Backstage, Shane Douglas cut A.J. Styles’s promo before asking Styles about facing Samoa Joe at Against All Odds and Shannon Moore on tonight’s show. Styles said a few words about Shannon before Christopher Daniels interrupted. Daniels, who was sporting a bandage on his head, accused Styles of trying to steal his spot as #1 Contender to Joe’s X Division Title since he threw in the towel at the PPV. Styles said he was looking out for Daniels’s well-being and his family. Daniels paused then sarcastically said it’s nice having such a good friend looking out for him. Styles wasn’t sure how to react as Daniels walked off. Good exchange between the two. There’s always good chemistry between Styles and Daniels.

Will that lead to better matches? It remains to be seen if Hunter is beyond the point where he can consistently give a strong performance in the ring no matter his gimmick. However, it has become apparent that a change is needed to get the most out of Hunter at this stage in his career. The key, as Shawn Michaels wrote in his autobiography, is allowing the real Hunter to come out on television. Hunter has charisma; he’s just suppressed it for too long.
