WWE Raw Reax #2: “Styles summed up exactly what is wrong with the WWE product.”

Monday, May 1st, 2006

The booking of Raw seems to be coming together to make for an interesting summer, especially with the “beginning” of the rebirth of ECW coinciding with the initial distinction between Vince and Triple H that will lead to the eventual reformation of DX. It was made more evident with Triple H and HBK being on camera together for the first time in months. I don’t know what DX can accomplish together as established veterans except for maybe a WrestleMania 23 match and some laughs…

Monday, May 1st, 2006

Cold Open: Mr. McMahon announces he’s taking the night off (Yay!) and he’s making the Spirit Squad co-General Managers (Boo!). The Squad announce a couple of nondescript matches my fingers refuse to type. Maybe Vince is getting out of the way to start the ECW angle…

WWE Raw Reax #1: “The tensions between Lawler and Styles seemed real.”

Monday, May 1st, 2006

I thought the last 40 minutes of Raw was really interesting and kept me interested in the product. It was obvious that the show wouldn’t include much great in-ring action as now they are working towards new storylines such as ECW. I liked the semi-shoot that Joey Styles had to offer as well as the King-Joey exchange. At the end of the “shoot” Styles did “insult” the fans in a way…

Will Sun Open Source Java?

Monday, May 1st, 2006

capt turnpike writes “According to eWEEK.com, there’s an internal debate going on at Sun whether to open-source Java. (Insert typical response: “It’s about time!”) Company spokespersons have no official comment, as might be expected, but perhaps we could hear confirmation or denial as early as May 16, at the JavaOne conference. One commentator said, “Sun should endorse PHP and go one step forward and make sure the ‘P’ languages run great on the JVM [Java virtual machine] by open-sourcing Java.” Would this move Java up the desirability scale in your eyes? Could this be a way to help improve what’s lacking in Java?”

Accused Duke Lacrosse player Reade Seligman’s lawyer filed a motion (pdf) today seeking recusal of the DA. It’s a great motion, you should read the whole thing. It lays out the undisputed and disputed evidence, has new details, and alleges the D.A. was motivated by the primary election which is being held tomorrow and a desire to claim the national spotlight.

The motion also alleges he improperly injected himself in the lineup, causing the Durham Police Department to violate their own procedures which are embodied in a police department order.
