ECW on SciFi Reax #2: “I thought this episode of ECW was the most ‘extreme’ showing thus far.”

Tuesday, July 11th, 2006

Something had to be done to keep all the fans who gave up on ECW when Big Show won the belt. Would Ric Flair become the second man ever to hold all three world heavyweight titles (WWF, WCW, ECW)? No, and we knew he wouldn’t. I expected them to put on a good match - and they did. The blood flowed throughout and the climax was a good story with close falls. After all those chairshots to Show’s head, it looked like Flair had a chance. ECW really needs these matches since Kurt Angle and RVD are out. Was Sabu’s one minute match a form of punishment?…

ECW on SciFi Reax #1: “Ric Flair demonstrated tonight why he is the greatest wrestler ever.”

Tuesday, July 11th, 2006

Most of this score goes to Ric Flair, who majorly helped ECW and its champ Big Show. The match itself was plodding at points and the movesets repetitive, but the match and Flair’s promo preceding it gave the whole thing the prestige that ECW has been needing badly. If Kelly’s Expose were a match, then Candace Michelle would have wiped the floor with Kelly - as if this is needed in a wrestling show. Taking the Extreme Rulez out of Sabu’s match is the equivalent to Samson getting his hair cut…

Furthermore, you people are the reason I had to suspend Rob Van Dam for 30 days. I did it for Rob Van Dam’s well-being. Let’s face facts. You people are the downfall of Rob Van Dam”…

Tuesday, July 11th, 2006

NYTimes.com has launched a limited beta of a personalized news site called MyTimes.com (screenshots via PaidContent), an RSS play that looks more like MyYahoo than it does the recent Newsgator partnerships with MyUSAToday and MyNewsweek.
