I AM LEGEND Plague Signs!!

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

Merrick here…

Last week, we ran an article featuring set photos from the I AM LEGEND shoot in NYC.

The pics featured a glimpse of “biohazard” sineage. You can access the report HERE.

James was kind enough to send in some extreme closeups of plague warning posters, etc. that will be seen throughout the film’s Manhattan setting — presumably in the background, and whatnot. His images reveal “fine print” detail we’re not likely to see on screen — much detail. We thought we’d pass these along for kicks.

An early look at Tom Tykwer’s PERFUME: THE STORY OF A MURDERER, seems worth a sniff!

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

Hey folks, Harry here - this is a film I’ve been excited about seeing since we first heard that Dreamworks had optioned it, then when Tykwer was attached, that excitement kept growing. Now that it is being screened to praise - well I can’t see it soon enough. Take a read…

Hey Harry,

So this morning at 10:30AM, in Grenoble, France, I was invited to a “Private Screening” for teachers (god knows how I got in) of Tom Tykwer’s newest film “THE PERFUME: THE STORY OF A MURDERER”. The film opens in France this coming weekend. I saw in French, but that did not ruin the overall experience. And 147 minutes, it flies by without a pause.

Will the Next Election Be Hacked?

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

plasmacutter writes to let us know about the new article by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in Rolling Stone, following up on his “Was the 2004 Election Stolen?” (slashdotted here). Kennedy recounts the sorry history of electronic voting so far in this country — and some of the incidents will be new even to this clued-in crowd. (Had you heard about the CERT advisory on an undocumented backdoor account in a Diebold vote-tabulating database — crediting Black Box Voting?) Kennedy’s reporting is bolstered by the accounts of a Diebold insider who has gone on record with his concerns. From the article: ‘Chris Hood remembers the day in August 2002 that he began to question what was really going on in Georgia… “It was an unauthorized patch, and they were trying to keep it secret from the state,” Hood told me. “We were told not to talk to county personnel about it. I received instructions directly from [president of Diebold election unit Bob] Urosevich…’ According to Hood, Diebold employees altered software in some 5,000 machines in DeKalb and Fulton counties, the state’s largest Democratic strongholds. The tally in Georgia that November surprised even the most seasoned political observers. (Hint: Republicans won.)
