Merrick again…

MTV has posted the music video to Chris Cornell’s “You Know My Name” – the song for the imminent CASINO ROYALE.

The video features a bored looking Cornell intercut amidst clips of the movie.

As I’ve said before, I feel I should either love this song or hate this song…but I feel no emotion towards it at all, damnit. Maybe that’s why Cornell looks bored?

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

Merrick here…

Here’s Uncapie with a look at THE ASTRONAUT FARMER, which should launch early 2007. It stars Billy Bob Thornton, Virginia Madsen, and Bruce Willis.

An astronaut farmer…

Hmmmmmm…

Anyone out there remember SALVAGE 1?

“Once upon a time, there was a junkman who had a dream…” Loved that show…schemed for years about how to build a spaceship in my own backyard. My parents got tired of the mess. Probably for the best; no ship I built could ever be as utterly cool as Andy Griffith’s “Vulture”.

It’s A CGI Fantasy-O-Rama!! The Utterly Unmagical HAPPILY N’EVER AFTER Trailer Hits!! + SHREK 4 News & PUSS IN BOOTS, Too!!

Merrick here…

The trailer demonstrates every shortcoming in the current slate of marginally produced, unimaginatively rendered CGI fair (MONSTER HOUSE is not included on this shit list).

The idea here is apparently to do an irreverent riff on well established fairly tale conceits. Sigh. [SEE BELOW]

HAPPILY N’EVER AFTER features voice work from Sarah Michelle Gellar, George Carlin, Sigourney Weaver, Freddie Prinze Jr. (seeming alive than usual via CGI), Andy Dick, and Wallace Shawn.

Monki’s Final Report From The Turks and Caicos International Film Festival!!

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

Greetings humans, Monki here with my final look at the Turks and Caicos International Film Festival. This one is coming just a bit late; things have been crazy-busy in the treehouse since returning from my island paradise. And by paradise, I do mean PARADISE. Waking up, running on the beach, swimming in the ocean, seeing cool movies with cool people. Things don’t get a lot better than that.

My final day of movies at the TCIFF included an “inspired” narrative about the worst month ever for a record executive, a hella-cool jazzy flick and an upcoming “controversial” documentary about a mouth from the South.
