Capone Shows NO RESTRAINT In His Discussion of MATTHEW BARNEY!!

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.

Matthew Barney is, to put it lightly, one weird motherfucker, and I would imagine this documentary only underlines that fact.

Hey, everyone. Capone in Chicago here. I’d always been told that long-celebrated artist Matthew Barney was elusive and unapproachable, and while that may be true, there’s no evidence of being anything more than forthcoming and honest in this documentary about his contrasting lifestyle and work (also often a study in contrast) from director Alison Chernick. Using as its base camp Barney’s filming of his most adventurous work DRAWING RESTRAINT 9 on board a Japanese whaling ship, NO RESTRAINT examines Barney’s career and personality.

KNOCKED UP Domestic Trailer Is Online Too!!

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.

Look… we haven’t gone KNOCKED UP crazy, although I think most people will once they see it in June. It’s just that Universal appears to have kicked in with their marketing this week, and it’s all popping up online at once.

So in the same day that we get that hilarious international trailer (”Fuck off” has never been so appropriately timed), we also get this very, very good domestic trailer that gives you a look at more of the film.

This one’s a winner, and the confidence is obvious in everything Universal releases. Can’t wait to see the final cut.

Capone’s Been To INLAND EMPIRE, And He Wants Out Of The Black Lodge Now!!

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.

People seem to think that Harry or I get upset when people don’t agree with us about a movie, but that’s ridiculous. Half the time, I don’t even agree with Harry, so we certainly don’t expect everyone on the site or everyone in talkback to line up with us.

Case in point: INLAND EMPIRE. This was number two on my list of favorites this year, but I know many people who have hated it outright. Capone doesn’t quite say he hates it, but this review is anything but positive. Does that mean Capone’s wrong?
